Why I’m Not Giving Up My Blog

Even though I love writing on Medium

Writing has been a dream of mine for some time now and I am nothing if not persistent in sticking with something I start (I’ve been married for 30 years so I guess I’m consistent with this theme). But, there is merit in giving up something that is not working, has seen better days, or no longer serves you.

I’ve been thinking about giving up on my blog, Simple Life~Simple Faith, and just hammering away at the keyboards for Medium, but for some reason, I just couldn’t allow myself to pull the plug on something I’ve put a lot of time — and money — into. But, I like closure, despise waste, and I felt like my blog was an albatross around my neck. That thing that kept nagging at me in the middle of the night but which I kept hoping would resolve itself somehow. In other words, I’ve been ignoring it.

When I started writing a blog on Medium per the urging of my writing coach, the selfless Nikki Tate, I fell in love with the platform, the writers, the process, and the ease at which I could produce a fairly well-crafted and shiny looking blog post without all the fanfare involved in creating something worth looking at and reading on my website.

If you are a blogger and a Medium writer, you know what I mean. SEO this, Canva that, update here, don’t forget the meta…
