I agree with you, too. Part of this is the misunderstanding that God honors marriage more than singleness. That a woman or man is not complete without a mate. Clearly, Paul doesn't teach this and church history doesn't either. I'm not sure why the modern church worships the family unit so much. Even when I was newly married there was all this pity around us because we chose to wait to have children. We were intentional about out decision but church members thought we were having fertility problems.
