Hello, thank you for your response. I can imagine that it would be hard to disconnect from the relationships and school community at large. Perhaps there would be volunteer ways for you to stay connected? You’ll definitely want to leverage those skills when looking for work in the corporate world. If working with adult learners such as in a professional learning or training role, you would use the same skills you perfected when working with students. Listening to customers to understand their needs and “reading between the lines” to offer solutions is also a skill to emphasize. Think of all the things you juggled in the classroom, that speaks to organization, time management, and effectively using the resources you have to meet the needs of diverse learners. I also think about the ability to pivot when something isn’t working, think on your feet, prioritize, and understand important vs urgent tasks. I hope that helps!
